4-2-3-1 Wide Offensive
Friends of Football Manager Guru here for you a new post dedicated to the tactics category of Football Manager 2020. The tactical scheme shown here is the 4-2-3-1 wide offensive created and used by Simone Rabellino with his Ravenna 2019-2020.
This tactic is the second module used by Mr. Rabellino, as the first option is always the famous 4-3-1-2 Tiki-Taka Vertical Offensive Tight.
The 4-2-3-1 wide offensive tactic with play on the flanks provides for a very fast game with direct passing and continuous exploitation of the flanks.
This tactic includes an overlap between the full-backs and offensive wings, a very wide game aimed at exploiting the whole field (in this case it is advisable to set the largest possible field size in the initial settings).
The players in possession phase always try to play the ball in the spaces. In the non-possession phase the team shows a full court press and as soon as the ball is recovered a quick counter-attack is triggered.
